Mitchell House
352-362 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne, Victoria

(Harry Norris, 1936)

WINTER 2009 - Preservation News
ADMS has nominated two of Melbourne's best interwar buildings for inclusion on the Victorian Heritage Register - Mitchell House, on the corner of Elizabeth St and Lonsdale St (Harry Norris, 1936) and Yule House, 309-311 Little Collins St (Oakley & Parkes, 1932). It has long been recognised that Moderne buildings are under-represented on the Register and it is our aim to nominate a number of buildings this year. It's not an easy process - the submission must include the architectural and general history of the building, assess its significance against a number of criteria and demonstrate that the building is of State significance.

April 2006 - Preservation News
Mitchell House has been re-painted and upgraded, with obtrusive air-conditioners removed from windows.

Winter 2001 - Preservation News
One of Melbourne's prominent Harry Norris buildings, Mitchell House, is undergoing a long overdue facelift.
