APRIL 2006 - Preservation News
Following a grant from Heritage Victoria, work was conducted to restore and re-paint the Pool complex. The change rooms were re-painted in original colours of green and cream. An official launch of the upgraded complex is expected soon.
SPRING 2005 - Preservation News
NEARLY FINISHED! In the late 90's, ADS worked with the local community to save a moderne swimming pool in Maryborough in central Victoria. The pool was subsequently added to the State Heritage Register, and money was granted to restore the complex. Work is nearly complete.
WINTER 2001 - Preservation News
A few years ago, ADS and Maryborough residents, led by Lauris Weir, fought a major battle to preserve Victoria's best Art Deco swimming pool. The subsequent listing by Heritage Victoria resulted in funds being made available to the local council for restoration works, which have commenced and are being monitored closely by our 'eyes and ears' in Maryborough, the indefatigable Lauris.
