What About Preservation?
A major role of the Art Deco and Modernism Society (ADMS) is participation in the political process of building preservation and maintenance of a "deco watch" over buildings under threat of inappropriate redevelopment or destruction.
ADMS maintains a large database of buildings in the Art Deco style and maintains links with other preservation groups, such as the National Trust. It regularly seeks to obtain listings of interwar buildings on the Register of the National Trust or with government heritage organisations at national, state or local levels.
The Society is a member of the International Coalition of Art Deco Societies (ICADS) and shares information with over 30 similar organisations around the world.
