PubCrock Collection: Collecting vintage hotel ware

Join us to hear from Di Sandilands, creator of PubCrock, a collection of hotel ware from a time when hospitality venues proudly displayed their name on their crockery, and sometimes glass and metal ware.
Badged hotel ware was everywhere – in hotels, cafes, guest houses and tea rooms, in small towns to big city hotels, in hospitals and on the railways.
Di will guide us through the journey that initially inspired her to collect hotel ware, detailing many adventures she encountered along the way. This includes sharing the history of institutions such as the dining halls in Coles Variety Stores through the lens of hotel ware.
Di encourages you to bring along any of your own hotel ware from the Art Deco period to share a story or ask any questions.
