Two major buildings are currently being considered for listing by Heritage Victoria. If successful, it indicates that they are of State significance and stringent controls are imposed under State legislation. They are the Ivanhoe Centre (originally known as the Heidelberg Town Hall) and the Rivoli Theatre, Camberwell.
Grand Hotel, Mt Alexander Rd, Essendon (Summer 2005)
A landmark in the Essendon district, the Grand Hotel in Mt Alexander Rd is to be converted into apartments. The facade and front section of the existing building is to be incorporated into the development.

Mitcham Railway Precinct, Mitcham (Spring 2004)
In a surprise outcome, approval has been confirmed for a 14-storey office tower in outer suburban Mitcham. In an area with few Art Deco buildings, the proposal will result in the demolition of a disused Moderne house and factory, formerly used by Brewers sporting goods.
Davis Relova Laundry, Hoddle St, Richmond (Spring 2004)
After a lengthy development process, the conversion of the Davis Relova laundry in Hoddle Street to apartments within this landmark building designed by Walter Mason is now complete. The apartments are for sale, and the facade of the original building is now being painted.
